Actually, I don't have much of an explanation.  After camp, I just didn't get on for a while because I was catching up around the house and stuff.  Then I guess I was so overwhelmed with the pile of messages I hah accumulated... of course the pile just grew as I stayed away longer...

So now school has started again.  My little school is hanging in there.  I only have 3 in my class: 2 2nd and 1 3rd.  If you're on Facebook, you can vote for us to win $500k from Kohl's if you haven't used your votes here!

We're starting the process of adopting a child.

I'm sorry I sort of disappeared without warning. Things got go busy with the end of the school year. Now there's uncertainties about my husband's job, and I'm not going to be able to have the part-time work I thought for the summer, so I have to find something else.

I'll be around a little the next week and a half, but then, on the 12th is when I go to camp for a week.

This is my 7th installment of my feature-call articles.  Over a month ago, I sent out a call for art featuring children.  All submitted images were featured in a journal box for about a month.

Some of these children have wonderful, happy lives, some struggle to stay alive. Some of these have hundreds of

s, some only have 2. Some of these are by professionals, some are "mere" family snapshots. But ALL of these photos show the wonderful innocence of children. I tried to include photos of children from all around the world because ALL children are beautiful!

I hope everyone has been surviving this winter ok. We had the coldest stretch of temperatures I've ever experienced, and I know it's been a lot worse further north. It's warmed up now, but everything is still dead except for the evergreens and a few random weeds.

Theme Feature 6: Winter Vicariously

Well, I'm out for Christmas break now, but I really shouldn't be on too much.  I have a lot I have to work on around the house.  Right now I'm working on painting one of our bathrooms.  The hard part is that the old paint job was quite shoddy, so I have a lot of sanding to do first.

Even though I can do journal features any more, I want to do a part 2 to my winter vicariously  feature from last year.  If you have winter images, please send me a note and I will include you in a news article feature.

School Update:
We have yet another, final location for the school.  Enrollment is very low, not surprising after all we went through.  I will teach grades 2-4 unless we get several new students so we can split up.  Right now I only have 6.  It will be a challenge, but I'm grateful I have a job.

Life

The Wildflower features are up in my custom journal box! I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I'll probably post another photo or two before I go!

_{We are trying to reopen the school, but as a non-profit, so we won't have owners anymore.  We have a good number of parents supporting us, and even one parents that's an attorney who will help us w/ all the legal stuff.

We've been told we have a pretty good chance to get at least some pay.  Bankruptcy judges generally don't like people who own two businesses, then declare bankruptcy on one, but not the other when they're connected.  In other words, he declared bankruptcy on the school, but not on the building (he owned both) so he could sell the building for offices.

Enough boring stuff...

Further Update

If I still do a lot of

& runs, it's because I don't have much time on the internet during the summer.

_{My principal called Friday to break the news.  They're closing the entire school.  The worthless owner was just going to send us a letter.  If he tries to get away w/o paying us this summer, we'll file a class-action suit.  The letter I received on Saturday says that the owner is filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy.  This means that he probably won't pay us for 30 days (that's 2 paychecks) and possibly even longer. There's nothing we can do, though, but wait and see.  We can be penalized if we try to get our money.

But I'm not worried.  We have a plan for next year.  God will take care of us.

I'm also beginning a personal business with a direct-sales company called Heritage Makers.  I'll give more information on that soon.  I think that it is something that will really appeal to artists, even though that is not the "target population."  Check it out if you want: [link]
